Dual Probationer/Parolee Running Amok Without Supervision… Again
Staff Report
Humboldt Sentinel
On Jaunary 21 at about 2:10 p.m., a Eureka Police Department patrol officer was conducting a probation search at a troublesome residence for complaints of
stolen property and drug activity located on the 100 block
of West Henderson Street in Eureka.
As the officer was searching a rear bedroom in the residence, he heard a knock on the back door. The officer walked to the door and opened it. As he opened the door, he recognized the male subject standing there as David Scott Fournier.
The officer had arrested Fournier on two prior occasions for possession of a stolen vehicle. Fournier was on active CDC parole for receiving/possessing stolen property. He was also currently on formal felony probation for possession of a controlled substance.
Upon further investigation, the officer discovered Fournier had driven to the residence in a small 1984 blue Toyota pick-up truck which was parked along the street just south of the house. A check of the truck’s license plate revealed it had been reported stolen out of Arcata on December 17.
Fournier claimed he bought the truck for $250.00.
The officer, however, noted the truck’s steering column had been
dismantled, exposing the wires to the ignition.
Fournier (age 48, of Ferndale) was arrested by the officer and transported to the Humboldt County Correctional Facility where he was booked for vehicle theft, possession of stolen property, and parole violation.
