Let’s face it. Puberty is about as rough as it gets.
Especially for Bobby Bowersox. When the 10-year-old gets beaned with a baseball in right field, it is crystal clear he needs to get glasses.
When does get them, he can suddenly see things clearer– from the objects around him to the glossy pictures of smiling women in swimwear that previously were only a mysterious blur.
Although reluctant to accept his need for glasses, after some awkward and caring guidance from his nerdy parents Boyd and Paulette, Bobby’s world view soon changes as he delights in the whole new phase of life lying just ahead.
A charming and enjoyable flick, we’re reminded of how humorous life, and its cruel and funny phase of puberty, can really be for us all.
